(Naija Graffiti) Summer Beach Retreat for Young Creatives

Naija Graffiti is a youth engagement and empowerment platform from Proximity that uses urban entertainment and meaningful content to start conversations about the youth experience in Nigeria. We find great venues, great young talents and set up great adventures that bring out the best among our attendees. Naija Graffiti is about creating great authentic experiences that can inspire young people to reach their fullest potential.

This summer retreat to our exclusive beach house along the beautiful Eleko beach community is designed for young people between the ages of 20 and 29 who are currently looking to start, or currently building a career in the creative industries ( Film, music, photography or other expressive visual arts, software, design and making, fashion and styling, marketing and communications, creative writing or architecture)

Though designed as a two day retreat, the second day is optional for those who are unable to stay. The programme is however packed with fun, mentorship, networking and workshops intended to give the participants a great time while also acquiring the important life and mental skills required to find success as creative entrepreneurs.

THE PROGRAMME

Day One

9.30 am prompt. Buses will leave Ikeja City Mall Ikeja for Eleko (Pickups en-route at E-Centre and The Palms VI)

11am -1pm Arrival and lunch

1pm - 6pm . Activities ( Lectures, Music, Games, Workshops & Presentations)

6pm - 8pm Depart for those unable to stay, Break for those staying the two days.

8pm -11pm . Variety talent night ( Participants will show case their talents; Beach Open Air Cinema, brief talk,

11pm -1am Burn Fire and BBQ Night

Day Two

7am - 9am Early Morning work out/ Volley ball tournament (Fresh coconuts for the early risers)

9am - 11am Freshen up

11am - 1pm Breakfast and breakfast talk

1pm - 2pm Closing Ceremonies

2pm Departures

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is open to any Nigerian Resident between the ages of 20 and 29, aspiring or currently pursuing a career in the creative industries. We are particularly keen to encourage Freelancers and Independent creatives. Entrepreneurial teams with no more than 3 persons may also apply as a team. Every participant will be expected to exhibit/present no less than two pieces of their original work, which may be entered for peer review towards prizes and recognition at the event.

TRANSPORT

There will be buses available to transport participants to the venue and back. Buses will leave Ikeja City Mall by 9.30am prompt on Saturday the 25th of August and pick participants along the way at designated pick up points at E-centre Yaba, as well as The Palms VI. Those who have alternative mode of transportation are welcome to make their own arrangements.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES

Arrangements will be made for shared beach accommodation for those participants requiring it. There will be sufficient comfort facilities and conveniences. Security and safety personnel will also be readily available.

FEES

One day Option N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira only)

Two day Option N7,500 (Seven Thousand, FIve Hundred Naira Only)

RECOGNITION

There will be a certificate of attendance issued to all those who attended and actively participated including special prizes given to various talents showcased and adjudged the best by the participants themselves.
